Located at beautiful Kennywood Park near Pittsburgh, PA, the classic Racer wooden roller coaster was designed by John Miller and opened in 1927. Though it appears to have two separate courses, the Racer is one of only three existing Möbius loop coasters, which means that in reality there is but a single track: riders that board on one side of the platform will disembark on the opposite side upon returning to the station. The Racer is a cherished rite of passage for those growing up in eastern Pennsylvania. Well-maintained by park staff, the Racer offers a thrilling, pleasant ride experience for a wide range of ages. Interestingly, the Racer's trains operate so close together that passengers can reach across the track and "slap hands" as they compete toward the finish line.
